Using Place to differentiate your blog

I’ve posted an article at “The Blog Studio”: that touches on one of my key principles: that design has a responsibility in differentiating a product or service in a marketplace of parity products. In it, I suggest using place to make a blog stand out.

This relates directly to the piece I just posted here about web design taking on a sameness. While not appropriate in all settings, using the sense of place, be it imagery, inside jokes, or stories can be a very powerful way to A *connect with local users*, and B *differentiate a site*.
